58% of UK’s Adult Population does not have a Will
Certainty, The National Will Register, has undertaken research this year which shows that 58% of the UK’s adult population does not have a Will. They warn the public that “dying without a Will could potentially cause unnecessary issues for family members and relatives as your wishes remain unclear. Writing a Will protects your loved ones and prevents the government deciding who inherits your possessions property and money.”
Fortunately, top of the list for making a Will are those in the South West and the North East. Bottom of the list however are those in Northern Ireland, West Midlands and the North West.
At GA we strongly recommend that all individuals have a Will in place. We can guide you through the process and ensure it is without stress and legally valid.
Having a Will is particularly important if you aren’t married and want to ensure your partner inherits your estate, you recently bought a new home or started a family, wish to leave money for charity or simply wish to avoid family arguments and save your loved ones from going through the stressful process of splitting your assets.
Having a Will can also help to save on inheritance tax and will provide you with peace of mind.
