Record Breaking Fundraising Efforts by Plymouth Law Firm

Plymouth headquartered law firm, GA Solicitors, has today (23rd January) handed over more than £4,000 to a deserving local charity, Promoting Children in Plymouth (PCiP).
PCiP was named as the firm’s Charity of the Year in 2022 and fundraising continued until the end of last year. PCiP is an early intervention initiative spearheaded by the Plymouth Drake Foundation Charity. Its mission is to eradicate the social injustice, ill-health and misery caused by child poverty in Plymouth. It brings together the public, private and third sectors to ensure that, as a city acting in unison, we remain dedicated to making a difference throughout a young person’s early life.
The whole team at GA Solicitors was fully behind the charity’s mission and the staff have gone above and beyond to raise funds through bake sales, quizzes, knitting and an array of running and sporting events.
Katy McKenna, marketing and communications director of GA Solicitors commented: “Our drive to support PCiP has really brought the firm together. Our original fundraising target was just £2000 which the team smashed quite early on. They continued their efforts to support this amazing local charity and have now raised a fantastic amount.
“Fundraising has always been a huge part of GA. We strive to do our bit and give back where we can. As well as having a nominated charity each year, many of our staff are also board members or trustees for a wide range of charities and organisations.
“Well done to all of the team for their efforts. 2024 will see us supporting a new charity, Children’s Hospice South West, but we will remain continually supportive of PCiP and all that it stands for.”
Kerry Bidewell from Promoting Children in Plymouth (PCIP) also commented: “We have been very impressed by all those at GA and how they have gotten fully behind the charity and what we are trying to achieve. They have done so much more than just donate money – they have also provided time and thought, becoming involved in our various initiatives, including reading to the children in schools.
“Thank you GA Solicitors, for all of your efforts.”
The staff at GA Solicitors have voted for Children’s Hospice Southwest to be its charity of the year for 2024.
