We strive for the best and provide our trainees with a supportive and nurturing environment. We expect our trainees to use their initiative, be adaptable and to have as much client contact as possible throughout their training with us.
In our two year training programme, you will gain experience in four seats (both contentious and non-contentious) and spend approximately six months in each. We do try to take a flexible approach where possible, so some of our trainees have experienced work in more areas with shorter seats. Ideally your last seat will be in the team you propose to qualify, ensuring a smooth path to qualification and your new role as a newly qualified solicitor at GA.
Our departments include:
- Commercial property
- Wills, trusts and probate
- Family
- Residential conveyancing
- Personal injury
- Dispute resolution
- Energy
- Corporate commercial
- Employment
You will be supervised by a senior specialist lawyer in each seat but you will also get the opportunity to work with other lawyers to ensure you get a real feel for the work we undertake and to ensure a breadth of experience. Our lawyers are specialists in their field and we ensure we choose the best supervisors to pass on their skills and expertise to our trainees.
You will meet with our training principal, Lucy Foster, every three months to ensure your training and development is where it should be and to discuss and plan your seats throughout the length of your training contract.
