Wills, Trusts and Probate
“One of the key reasons why I find this Wills, Trusts and Probate seat so interesting, is because of the exposure you have meeting clients. Most of my days are filled with at least one client meeting! I really enjoy working with financial planners and accountants to achieve the best decision for clients. Additionally, as every family is different, no two client meetings are the same!
The work I have completed has developed my knowledge of tax, specifically Inheritance Tax and Capital Gains Tax. It is important for a lawyer in this team to have a great knowledge of tax treatment to help clients plan for their future when passing assets to their children.
The key reason why I really enjoy working at GA Solicitors is that everyone is so friendly and anyone in the firm will take their time to help you and make sure you understand the topic. The firm also has many staff benefits to support a work-life balance”.

Dispute Resolution
“I am currently in the 3rd seat of my training contract in the Dispute Resolution Team, having previously been in the Wills, Trust and Probate team (1st seat) and Commercial Property team (2nd seat).
I came into my training contract without a concrete idea of where I wanted to be in two years. At regular appraisals, I have been able to check in with our training principal Lucy to review my progress and discuss my options for the remainder of my training and beyond.
I have worked alongside and under the supervision of those with a wealth of knowledge and experience that they are more than willing to share with you. Everyone wants you to succeed and is genuinely happy to take the time to explain things to you.
As a trainee, it has certainly helped me to feel supported and not afraid to approach anyone with a question.
I couldn’t imagine myself completing my training anywhere else now”.
