GA Solicitors Advises on Multi-Million-Pound Commercial Deal

The commercial property team of GA Solicitors has advised one of its largest clients on the property aspects of a national, multi-million-pound deal.
The client, ERS Transition Limited (trading as ERS Medical), has merged with E-zec Medical Transport Services to create the UK’s largest provider of specialist transport services to the NHS and local authorities.
Together, these two merged businesses will employ more than 2,500 employees across 55 sites nationwide. In 2022, their combined revenue was in excess of £100 million.
ERS Medical was advised by David Stone, partner and head of the commercial property team at GA Solicitors, in relation to the 24 leasehold properties held by the company across the UK.
The organisation, which will operate under the E-zec name, will serve more than 50 commissioning bodies, providing non-emergency patient transport, mental health and specialist transport, medical courier and GP out-of-hours services.
David Stone, head of commercial property at GA Solicitors, said: “It has been a pleasure acting for ERS Medical. I have advised them since 2017, supporting the company as it built up its UK property portfolio and expanded its services, all whilst operating in some of the most challenging times for businesses providing critical health services. This merger is a significant deal for the client and, with so much synergy between ERS and E-zec, their combined experience is expected to be beneficial to clients, patients, and the communities they serve.”
Andrew Pooley, ERS Medical’s majority shareholder and chief executive, commented: “I have been a shareholder in ERS since 2017 and, during that time, have dealt with David in relation to all our property transactions.
“His experience and personal knowledge of our property portfolio allowed us to quickly and sensibly deal with all property issues that arose in relation to the merger. I will now be stepping back from the business and am confident that the new shareholders will continue to develop both the business and its offering.”
GA Solicitors is a multi-million-pound law firm employing 88 members of staff across its two offices (Plymouth and Bath).
