Act Family Law Joins GA Solicitors
Plymouth’s oldest specialist family law firm, Act Family Law, is to merge with GA Solicitors.
The merger was formally agreed at the end of December 2014 and will see the Act Family Law team commence work at GA Solicitors from 2nd March 2015.
Act Family Law was established by solicitor Ian Downing in 1997 and was the first law firm in the city to specialise solely in family matters. With 30 years of experience, Ian will join GA as a partner of the firm. He is an esteemed family specialist, ranked in the Chambers & Partners UK Guide as a leader in his field and described as a “first rate family law practitioner”. Since its inception, Act Family Law has supported hundreds of clients across the South West, particularly those in the professional services, businesses and armed forces.
Ian Downing and his colleague Julia Robson will enhance GA’s already strong family team and will provide advice on relationship and family matters including divorce and divorce financial settlements, separation agreements and arrangements for children, and cohabitee issues. Complementing Ian’s credentials, Julia has 25 years of experience in family law and an impressive breadth of legal knowledge.
