Charity of the year
Our charity of the year from January 2025 is Jeremiah’s Journey.
Our aim is to reduce prolonged and traumatic distress after bereavement. We believe that no child, young person, or family member should be alone in their grief. We will listen well, and ensure that they can face the future, with new skills and ideas. This enables them to enjoy their lives more fully, with grief being one part of their life, but not what defines them.
One child in every classroom will experience the death of a parent or sibling in every school, at any given time.
Bereavement in childhood is recognised as an Adverse Childhood Experience with a potential lifelong impact.
You can read more about them here.
Jeremiah’s Journey will be our nominated charity until the end of the year.
Children’s Hospice Southwest was our nominated charity last year and a total of £5530 was raised.

Our charity of the year
Each year our charity of the year is nominated and voted by GA staff. This ensures we have 100% buy in from everyone and that we have a high level of staff engagement in all events and fundraising.
We have supported a wide range of local and national charities over the years. This has included:
- St Luke’s Hospice
- Cancer Research UK
- Ellie’s Haven
- Gables Cats & Dogs Home
- Promoting Children in Plymouth
- Action Duchenne
- Keep Me Close Appeal at Derriford Hospital
Our staff at GA Solicitors are always incredibly involved in any fundraising efforts.
A high number of activities are undertaken across the 12 months. This includes everything from quiz nights and bake sales, through to running half marathons and handmaking gifts.
