Employment Solicitor Receives Award for Commitment to Charity
Rob Zacal, an employment solicitor at GA Solicitors, has received a ‘Gold Award’ from national charity Young Enterprise, for his levels of commitment to the West Devon board.
Young Enterprise is the UK’s leading charity that empowers young people to harness their personal and business skills, making the connection between school and the world of work. Rob has been a board member of Young Enterprise Plymouth for 18 months, becoming the chair in July of last year.
Talking of his involvement, Rob commented: “Working with Young Enterprise has been incredibly rewarding, particularly in regards to its Company Programme which has just drawn to a close. This saw schools from across Plymouth set up their own businesses and compete locally, regionally and nationally to obtain the title of business of the year. The amount of effort put in by all of the groups involved was incredible and they showed outstanding entrepreneurial skills both in regards to their ideas and their commitment.
“I have no doubt that all of the young people involved will go far, and to think that my efforts may have helped them in some way is actually very humbling.”
Young Enterprise West Devon Manager, Stephanie Anderson, presented Rob with the award and said: “Rob stepped in as chair despite the board halving in number and, although he became a new dad, he still managed to help organise and attend the Christmas and spring trade fairs, several training events and the YE West Devon Final.
“We are very grateful to Rob for his outstanding enthusiasm, dedication and support, as without him the competition would not have been as successful.”
