Family Solicitor and Partner Achieves National Accreditation
Mark Mears, a partner and experienced child care law solicitor at GA Solicitors in Plymouth, has been awarded the much respected, Children Law Accreditation by the Law Society.
The Children Law Accreditation is a recognised quality standard awarded to legal professionals who demonstrate specialist expertise in representing children and families in children law proceedings.
Recognised by the Legal Aid Agency, the accreditation provides reassurance to clients, professionals and the courts that accredited practitioners have the knowledge, experience and advocacy skills required to handle complex and sensitive cases involving children.
Mark is the second individual at GA Solicitors to achieve the accreditation, with Andrew Wonnacott, head of the childcare law team, having been a member since 2015.
To achieve the accreditation, Mark was required to demonstrate extensive practical experience in children law, including conducting cases, representing clients in court, and maintaining an up-to-date understanding of legislation, case law and best practice. He was also assessed on his ability to work directly with children, understand their wishes and feelings, and navigate the ethical issues that frequently arise in these cases.
Mark’s successful accreditation reflects a continued commitment to providing the highest standard of legal advice and representation in both public and private children law matters and we’re very proud to celebrate this fantastic achievement with him.
