GA announced as British Lung Foundation Patron

We’re proud to announce that we will be returning as a Mesothelioma Patron for the British Lung Foundation for the period 2020-2021.
To become a Mesothelioma Patron of the British Lung Foundation a company must have first-hand and direct experience of working with mesothelioma or asbestos. Our asbestos and industrial disease team works tirelessly to help victims suffering with the effects of asbestos. This team is led by James Walsh, a partner with more than 20 years’ experience dealing with asbestos litigation, and sees many cases every year where lungs have been affected and there is an irreparable amount of damage.
Having been a Meso Patron since 2018, it is our responsibility to help raise awareness and funds for vital research in the fight against mesothelioma. GA Solicitors is an accredited specialist asbestos litigator, recognised by the Association of Personal Injury (APIL), and we are one of the most respected teams dealing with asbestos related disease in the South West.
During the coming year, GA Solicitors will be looking forward to helping with a number of initiatives including the annual Love Your Lungs week, The British Lung Foundation’s Big Breakfast and being part of the hugely influential Mesothelioma Research Network Day.
This year more than most, The British Lung Foundation will have a vital role to play as it’s estimated that up to 29% of people that have been admitted to intensive care with Covid-19 respiratory issues, will go on to contract Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS). Unfortunately, this will result in an increase in the number of people with significant lung damage. More than ever before, it’s the British Lung Foundation that will be a focal point for tackling this issue and we at GA Solicitors are looking forward to standing alongside them.
Commenting on the news, GA Solicitors partner and head of the industrial disease team, James Walsh said: “The reason our support of the British Lung Foundation is so important is because we see daily the damage that asbestos and mesothelioma causes individuals and their families. In simple terms it can be “heart-breaking” which is why it’s important that we do our bit, that we help where we can, and that we devote as much energy as possible to fighting what can be such a cruel situation for our clients.”
Please feel free to phone James for a free, no-obligation chat if you have any concerns regarding your own or any family member’s exposure to asbestos and any possible claims you may have.
