Growth and promotion at Gill Akaster
Plymouth based law firm, Gill Akaster LLP, has employed three new members of staff, promoted a solicitor to associate status, and has confirmed ambitious plans for further growth.
Two fresh faces have joined Gill Akaster’s residential conveyancing department; experienced paralegal Lisa Wilcock and legal secretary Claire Spencer. The department now employs ten members of staff, making it one of the largest residential teams in the city.
Returning to Gill Akaster is commercial property solicitor Tony Dupreez. Tony completed his training with Gill Akaster in 2008 and has now rejoined the commercial department after gaining five years of legal experience.
Rebecca Brisley, a specialist personal injury solicitor, has been with the firm for nine years and has been promoted to associate. Rebecca has played a key role in many notable personal injury cases and this promotion highlights her as an important player in the firm’s future.
Stephen Ramsden, managing partner of Gill Akaster LLP, commented: “We are delighted to welcome Tony, Claire and Lisa to the firm, and equally as delighted to reward Rebecca with her much deserved promotion to associate.
“We have had an incredibly positive start to 2013 and this is set to continue as we invest further and expand the firm’s offering. We provide a comprehensive service to clients across seven specialist departments and remain open to ways to develop this further – be this taking on individuals with relevant experience, or perhaps an entire team of specialist solicitors working within a niche sector. We are primed for the future and are very excited to see how it develops.”
Gill Akaster currently employs 65 members of staff from its city centre office and includes seven specialist departments: commercial; residential conveyancing; employment; dispute resolution; personal injury; family and wills, trusts and taxes.
