Lexcel awards top marks for teamwork at GA Solicitors

Multi-sector law firm, GA Solicitors, has passed an external inspection into the quality of its work with glowing praise for its teamwork and compliance during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The firm has just been re-accredited by Lexcel, The Law Society’s national quality standard, following a rigorous audit of its policies, procedures and performance. This is the eleventh year in a row it has secured the standard, demonstrating the firm’s commitment to attaining and maintaining the highest possible standards in the legal profession.
Lexcel’s lead assessor confirmed the firm’s full compliance with the new Lexcel v6.1 standard which closely examines the firm’s approach to client care; risk management; people management; structure and strategy; financial management; information management; file and case management.
Commenting on the firm’s culture, the assessor reported that: “Remote working has been readily embraced by everyone because of good management practices,” following COVID-19 restrictions on office working. They also found: “Another example of good practice is the way in which managers constantly communicate with their team members, thus creating within each individual a sense of belonging to the whole.”
The findings regarding compliance were equally as positive with the assessor reporting: “Once again, there is a dearth of non-compliances at this firm… It is consequently the assessor’s strong recommendation that the firm continues to be accredited with Lexcel certification.”
David Wallis, managing partner of GA Solicitors, commented: “The confirmation of our compliance with the highest possible standards demanded by Lexcel is a real tribute to the dedication and professionalism of our team during a challenging time for us all. It also offers our clients further reassurance that our collective commitment to them is as strong as ever.
“We were particularly proud this year to have our culture and team morale referenced in the assessment. We put a lot of effort into staff engagement and in ensuring all of our 78 employees are well supported, something we know has been even more important over the last few months.”
This accreditation swiftly follows the publication of GA’s performance over the past 12 month from researchers at the Legal 500 who ranked a record number of GA lawyers in six areas of the law based on feedback from clients, industry professionals (such as accountants, bankers and independent financial advisors) and other law firms.
