Partner Promotion at Plymouth Law Firm
Regional law firm, GA Solicitors, has promoted Gloria Dyer, a key member of its well-established family law team in Plymouth, to the position of partner, following her successful progression from Associate to Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEX).
Having been at the firm for more than two decades, Gloria has established herself as an experienced family law practitioner, managing a diverse caseload whilst strengthening community ties. A veteran herself, she has developed strong connections with the armed forces, regularly delivering legal advice clinics at various barracks across the city. Gloria also specialises in supporting domestic abuse victims and has developed strong links with Plymouth Domestic Abuse Service (PDAS). She is a regular court advocate and a member of Resolution.
To achieve Chartered Legal Executive status, Gloria met the rigorous requirements set by CILEX, which included completing the CILEX Professional Qualification (CPQ), acquiring extensive qualifying legal experience, and compiling a portfolio to demonstrate her expertise. As part of this process, she completed over 2,300 hours of qualifying work, evidencing her competence across eight core areas essential to the designation.
Her work and client service levels have earned Gloria national recognition in the family law arena, with accolades secured from two of the UK’s leading legal directories, The Legal 500 and Chambers UK. The Legal 500 describes Gloria as “outstanding in her field,” highlighting her meticulous preparation and commitment to her clients. Chambers and Partners has consistently ranked Gloria since 2021, recognising her calm, communicative approach and practical, solution-focused advice. One client noted, “Gloria’s ability to strategise and provide solutions within highly emotive situations is what sets her apart.”
Commenting on Gloria’s promotion, David Wallis, managing partner of GA Solicitors, said:
“Gloria is an outstanding legal professional, and her promotion is thoroughly well-deserved. Her expertise further reinforces the strength and reputation of our highly regarded family law team, which has continued to grow from strength to strength over recent years. A big congratulations to her for her hard work and dedication.”
Gloria Dyer added: “Achieving a high-level qualification while working full time was certainly a juggle, but GA Solicitors has supported me at every step. I am both excited and proud to have been made a partner of this growing law firm. After more than 20 years in family law, I was certainly confident in my abilities, however this extra qualification really showcases the scale of my expertise, and I will continue to put it to good use and support my clients in every way I can.”
GA Solicitors has been established in Plymouth for more than 200 years and employs nearly 100 members of staff. The family team is well recognised in the industry and now has an expansive team of 20 individuals, all of whom are specialists in this area of law. Gloria Dyer has been a part of this team since 2002.
