Helen Rumford, head of the team based in Bath, is an experienced energy lawyer actively involved in renewable energy and passionate about the sector. Prior to joining GA she worked in the energy teams at several leading law firms in the region.
Helen will continue to advise clients locally and nationally on energy projects throughout the UK. She advises developers, funds, asset managers, investors, landowners and community groups on new projects, maximising the value of existing projects, financing projects, acquisitions and disposals across a range of technologies including solar, wind, anaerobic digestion, energy from waste and energy storage.
Helen is a member of Entrepreneurial Women in Renewable Energy, co-founder of the Bristol based Business and Energy Sector Strategy and Insights Group and a board member of Low Carbon Gordano, a Community Benefit Society helping to create a low carbon future through renewable energy generation, carbon capture and energy storage.
She said “I’m really pleased to be joining GA and to lead on the launch of GA Energy, a specialist niche energy law service tailored to meet individual client’s needs. I will be providing the same virtual in-house approach which my clients value but with the support, resource and backing of a full service law firm.”
GA Managing Partner Stephen Ramsden added “Energy is a sector we are keen to focus on and to support. Helen is highly regarded in the sector, she has exceptional energy experience and is commercially minded and we are delighted to welcome her to the firm and to support the launch of GA Energy, our new bespoke energy law service.”
With more than 200 years of heritage, GA Solicitors is a leading Plymouth law firm with 79 members of staff offering guidance across seven specialist departments: business; family; employment; dispute resolution; wills, trusts & probate; conveyancing and personal injury.
Note to Editors
GA Solicitors can trace its roots back more than 200 years and has been steadfastly helping the people and business in Plymouth and the South West for its duration. Originally based in Devonport, the firm gets its initials from Thomas Husband Gill who joined the practice in 1875 and later went into partnership with Albert E. Akaster.
Now one of the region’s leading law firms, the 79-strong team at the Lexcel-accredited LLP, conveniently accessible at their Plymouth city centre office, is structured around seven practice areas, each comprising its own specialist department:
