Plymouth lawyer achieves national recognition
Catherine Bailey, associate of Plymouth based Gill Akaster LLP Solicitors, has been accepted as a member of national association, Solicitors for the Elderly (SFE).
SFE is an independent association of lawyers who specialise in legal services for older people and their carers. Catherine has extensive experience in this area and provides comprehensive legal advice relating to lasting powers of attorney, Court of Protection applications, administering taxable and non-taxable estates, lifetime flexible family trusts, wills and trust administration.
Catherine is one of only seven individuals across the city who have been accepted as a full member of Solicitors for the Elderly. This acceptance is backed up by Catherine’s recent training, undertaken as part of her role with the Tavistock Dementia Alliance, which saw her qualify as a ‘Dementia Friend Champion’ – demonstrating Catherine’s dedication to offering the best possible care to her clients.
Talking about her acceptance to SFE, Catherine commented: “I have been specialising in legal services for the elderly for the past nine years and am delighted that this hard work has been acknowledged. This membership, alongside my role as a dementia champion and supporting the national drive to make communities dementia friendly, means I am well placed to support elderly clients across a wide range of legal services.”
Gill Akaster currently employs 65 members of staff from its city centre office and includes seven specialist departments: commercial; residential conveyancing; employment; dispute resolution; personal injury; family and wills, trusts and probate.
