Record Breaking Fundraising Year for GA Solicitors
South West law firm, GA Solicitors, has today (28th January 2026) handed over a cheque for £6,100 to local children’s bereavement charity, Jeremiah’s Journey.
The handover follows 12 months of fundraising by staff at the Plymouth headquartered law firm who voted for Jeremiah’s Journey to be their charity of the year for 2025. The 98 staff at the historic law firm have taken part in raffles, bake sales, half marathons, quiz nights and much more, coming together to raise money for this important and much-deserving, local charity.
Jeremiah’s Journey, provides immediate bereavement support for children, young people and their parents/carers in Plymouth and the surrounding areas. The charity was founded by local NHS professionals who identified a lack of resources for age-appropriate early interventions to help children process grief and prevent long-term challenges later in life.
Now celebrating its 30th anniversary, the charity continues to support young people into adulthood through a range of community-based initiatives, including support groups and choirs, alongside its latest charity shop which opened in Stoke, Plymouth in December 2025.
Commenting on the fundraising success, GA Solicitors’ managing partner David Wallis, said: “Jeremiah’s Journey is a fantastic charity and the work it undertakes is a lifeline to many in the area. We were delighted to support them throughout 2025 and to learn more about the services they offer to bereaved children and their families.
“It was also wonderful to see staff at the firm working together and combining efforts to raise the money – and having some fun while doing so!
“We have just finished voting for our charity for 2026 and are delighted to announce that the Motor Neurone Disease Association has been selected as GA’s charity of the year. This is another well deserving charity, and we look forward to trying to raise the bar one again over the next 12 months.”
John Naismith, support engagement manager at Jeremiah’s Journey added: “Jeremiah’s Journey have been supporting families in and around Plymouth for 30 years this year and have never received any statutory or commissioned funding during that time. We have a very small staff team supported by our amazing volunteers and trustees. Support such as this from GA Solicitors over the past year is essential to ensure that we can continue with our work. Every penny donated will enable us to provide children and their families with the support they truly need and deserve.
“We would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone at GA Solicitors. We have built a fantastic relationship with the team over the last year and very much hope to work with them again in the future.”
This fundraising achievement follows an equally impressive £5,520 which was presented to Children’s Hospice South West by GA Solicitors in January 2025, as its chosen charity of the year for 2024.
GA Solicitors has been established for more than 200 years. Its head office is located in Plymouth, with a small second office located in Bath. 98 members of staff are employed across the two sites and provide advice across eight specialist departments.
