Specialist accreditations for legal duo
Two solicitors from multisector law firm, GA Solicitors, have secured a hat-trick of specialist legal accreditations in their niche area of the law; wills, inheritance and trust disputes.
Anna Wonnacott is now a full member of ACTAPS (Association of Contentious Trusts and Probate Specialists), making her one of just four solicitors in the city to have achieved this status.
Angelo Micciche has been made an associate member of ACTAPS and also an affiliate member of STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners).
ACTAPS is the leading association for lawyers specialising in contentious trust and probate work and was established to enhance the specialist knowledge and expertise of practitioners working in this niche area.
STEP is the global professional association for practitioners specialising in family inheritance and succession planning, both in regards to contentious and non-contentious matters. Anna and Angelo are the only solicitors in Plymouth to be listed under the banner of contentious trusts and estates.
Speaking of her full membership, Anna commented: “We have seen a significant increase in the demand for wills, inheritance and trust disputes and GA Solicitors is one of only a handful of firms across Devon and Cornwall to have a specialist team working within this area.
“It takes a lot of work to gain these accreditations and Angelo and I have had to demonstrate a huge amount of experience in this specialist area. Clients can instruct GA Solicitors on any contentious matter and be confident that they will get expert legal advice in what is often a very complex area.”
Stephen Ramsden, managing partner of GA Solicitors, added: “There are very few firms across Devon and Cornwall who are able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge and expertise in this specialist area. It is testament to the hard work and dedication of Anna and Angelo that they have been awarded these accreditations and it is very well deserved. The feedback from clients is more than positive and the results they achieve speak for themselves.”
With more than 200 years of heritage, GA Solicitors is a multisector Plymouth law firm with 74 members of staff, offering guidance across seven specialist departments: business; family; employment; dispute resolution; wills, trusts & probate; conveyancing and personal injury.
Note to Editors
GA Solicitors can trace its roots back more than 200 years and has been steadfastly helping the people and business in Plymouth and the South West for its duration. Originally based in Devonport, the firm gets its initials from Thomas Husband Gill who joined the practice in 1875 and later went into partnership with Albert E. Akaster.
Now one of the region’s leading law firms, the 75-strong team at the Lexcel-accredited LLP, conveniently accessible at their Plymouth city centre office, is structured around seven practice areas, each comprising its own specialist department:
