GA Solicitors listed in The Legal 500 Green Guide 2024
We are delighted to announce that GA Solicitors has been included in The Legal 500’s Green Guide 2024. Having only launched last year, this is just the second edition of this important directory.
The Legal 500’s Green Guide is the first worldwide guide to recognise the top law firms advising on issues around climate change, governance and sustainability, as well as recognising a law firm’s contribution to reducing its carbon footprint and general focus on environmental, social and corporate governance.
The guide, as described by The Legal 500, sees them go around the world and put a global perspective on law firms that are key players in the green arena, identifying the firms that are contributing to a “green transition”.
Extensive research is undertaken by the editorial team with detailed submissions, in-depth interviews and legal works all playing a role in deciding who will make the cut.
At GA Solicitors we have been vocal about our efforts into reducing our carbon footprint. We have put a whole host of measures in place, many of which can be viewed on our sustainability page. We not only look to reduce our impact through operational changes but also strive to have a positive impact through our partnerships with other environmental organisations. We currently have a successful tree planting scheme in place with Ecologi, with the firm having already planted more than 1400 trees worldwide. GA Solicitors has also recently partnered with Pollenize, supporting the vital pollinating insects in our environment.
David Wallis, managing partner of GA Solicitors, commented: “We have put a huge amount of time and investment into reducing the firm’s impact on the environment. We have looked in detail at how the firm operates and where we could make a difference to reduce consumption. ESG (Environmental, social and corporate governance) has been a key driver for the firm and will remain so as we continue our journey to becoming carbon neutral.
“All of these efforts are backed up by the legal works of our specialist renewable energy team which supports renewable energy developers across the UK, from solar and wind through to hydro and anaerobic digestion.
“We are delighted to be included in The Legal 500’s Green Guide. It is only the second edition and so far very few firms in the South West are included. Currently, we are one of only two firms based in Plymouth that has been able to make this prestigious guide.”
As well as being included in the Green Guide, GA Solicitors is also ranked in Chambers & Partners UK, Chambers & Partners High Net Worth and the UK edition of The Legal 500.
