Local Law Firms Rally To Support Victims of Domestic Abuse

Five Plymouth law firms have joined forces to ensure that a programme, which is designed to educate and empower victims who have experienced or are at risk of, domestic abuse, can go ahead.
GA Solicitors, The Family Law Company, Wolferstans, Woollcombe Yonge and Nash & Co. have all made a significant donation to cover the cost of 200 books used in Plymouth Domestic Abuse Services’ (PDAS) Freedom programme.
The ten-week course is crucial for victims, allowing them to identify abusive relationships and understand the resulting impact on both them and their children.
Gloria Dyer, associate of GA Solicitors, commented: “The ramifications of domestic abuse are long lasting and all five of our law firms have provided ongoing support to both PDAS and victims of abuse.
“The Freedom programme is hugely important and we are pleased to have been able to come together to ensure that all those who take part have the necessary tools they need.”
Sue Collins, deputy local service manager at PDAS, added: “We are delighted to have received these donations from all five law firms, allowing us to work with women in a safe and confidential setting and to help them break the cycle of abusive relationships which many find themselves in.”
GA Solicitors is a multi-million-pound law firm employing 88 members of staff across its two offices (Plymouth and Bath).
