Undisputed Senior Appointment for GA Solicitors
Regional law firm, GA Solicitors, has recruited a new partner and head of dispute resolution as part of its ongoing investment to develop its commercial and general litigation offering.
Ieuan Jones joined the team this month (January) as a new senior recruit, providing expert commercial litigation advice, as well as becoming the new head of the dispute resolution department. The department encompasses several specialisms including contentious probate, professional negligence, commercial disputes and general, civil litigation.
Ieuan takes over from Stephen Ramsden as department head, with Stephen retiring from GA Solicitors in June 2021.
With extensive experience in business disputes, Ieuan has represented clients up to the Court of Appeal level. He has significant experience in advising business clients on director and partnership disputes; dealt with complex professional negligence and insurance claims; and has international experience having advised clients on cross-border disputes in Scotland, France, Switzerland, and Ghana.
Commenting on the recruitment, managing partner, David Wallis said: “Enabling our clients to settle disputes, particularly in the current climate, is critically important so we are delighted to be strengthening the team with this appointment. Ieuan not only has a considerable track record but he also knows and understands the regional landscape. We have a strong team in place and now look forward to further growing our reputation in this area of the law.”
Partner and new head of dispute resolution, Ieuan Jones, commented: “Having worked for a number of regional and local law firms, I am very excited to be joining the team at GA Solicitors. The firm is ranked in The Legal 500 and Chambers UK and there is a significant amount of talent in the disputes resolution team. I am keen to work alongside my new colleagues and take the department forward.”
Stephen Ramsden, partner and previous head of department, added: “Ieuan is a fantastic addition to the team and I am confident that I can retire in June and leave the department in more than capable hands. Ieuan’s background and successes speak for themselves and I wish him the very best in his future career at GA.”
Ieuan’s recruitment follows that of Matthew Ellis who joined the commercial dispute resolution team in July 2020.
