GA Solicitors Secures Eight Regional Rankings in The Legal 500
GA Solicitors, a multi-sector law firm headquartered in Plymouth, has once again been recognised by a top national legal directory for the quality and effectiveness of its legal advice. Newly released, The Legal 500 2026 guide, which was published this October, has ranked all eight of the firm’s submitted departments and a record 25 individuals.
The guide is a result of extensive research and thorough submissions, taking many months to complete. Over this time, The Legal 500 conducted in-depth interviews with clients, nominated partners and industry professionals, including accountants and independent financial advisers. The rigorous process is designed to assess firms based on client service, technical legal ability, and professional conduct.
GA Solicitors secured coveted rankings across eight of its legal departments: commercial property, employment, personal injury, dispute resolution, energy, company commercial, family and wills trusts and probate.
Researchers and client testimonials have praised the commercial departments for their “initiative and pragmatism” whilst GA’s personal injury, family and wills, trust and probate teams have been recognised for their “blend of expertise and genuine care for clients”.
GA Solicitors’ well-established renewable energy team saw researchers highlighting head of team, Helen Rumford, as a “one-stop shop for renewable energy schemes”. Client testimonials praised the department for being “relied upon for measured, diplomatic advice” and “finding a way to expedite matters with the trickiest of counterparts”.
Rankings across the eight departments all achieved tier 3 and 4 status, with a record 25 individuals highlighted by the international legal directory. This is up from an already high 23 in 2024.
GA Solicitors’ managing partner, David Wallis, commented: “We are delighted to see not only eight of our departments recognised, but also 25 individuals. This reflects our commitment to growth, excellence, and delivering outstanding legal services across the board.
“Knowing that testimonials from our clients have made a direct contribution to these rankings is particularly gratifying, and we are grateful for their time and support. The legal sector remains competitive, and we know it is our people who give us our edge. A big thank you goes out to each team for their hard work and success.”
The Legal 500 rankings follow the recent announcement and success of the Chambers High Net Worth Guide 2025, in which Jonathan Hall, partner and head of the firm’s private client team, and partner Matthew Rose once again secured a Band 1 ranking for private wealth law in Plymouth and the surrounding areas. Chambers UK, which assesses the strengths of law firms across various practice areas and jurisdictions, is also expected to release further rankings for GA Solicitors later this month.
With more than 200 years of heritage, GA Solicitors is a regional law firm, headquartered in Plymouth, with 98 members of staff. It offers guidance across eight specialist departments: business; family; employment; energy; dispute resolution; wills, trusts & probate; conveyancing and personal injury.
